Options after year 11

As students reach the end of Year 11, they have various options for their future education and career paths.

Staying in education after the age of 16 is highly encouraged to gain the qualifications and skills necessary for success.

Learning can occur in school, college, or through work with training, providing a route that suits everyone.

Regardless of the chosen path, it is important to aim for a Level 2 qualification in Maths and English, whether it’s a GCSE or a Functional Skills qualification. This ensures continued study in these subjects if a GCSE Grade 4 or above is not achieved.

The PDF below provides information on how the new grades correspond to the old grading system.
