Headteacher’s Welcome

Thomas Mills High School & Sixth Form is consistently one of the area’s highest-performing and well-regarded schools. Our school has many exceptional and distinctive features.

A flourishing 11-18 high school and sixth form situated in the pleasant and historic town of Framlingham, Suffolk, we set high expectations of our pupils and, together with our well-qualified staff, this leads to excellent teaching and learning. Our students make very good progress during their time here and move successfully to university (including Oxbridge), college, training or employment.

There is a thirst for learning amongst our students and as a parent once remarked “It’s cool to learn here.” Expectations are high and there are excellent working relationships between staff, students, parents and Trustees.

Pupils travel to Thomas Mills from across Suffolk, to experience an academic education of high quality. The school provides a curriculum with a range of options and a site with excellent facilities. The experience at Thomas Mills High School & Sixth Form can truly enrich students’ lives. Students can genuinely deliver and excel in their talents.

There is an impressive range of extra-curricular activities which supports our students as they become confident learners and active members of the community. Visitors often remark on the calm, purposeful and self-disciplined atmosphere.

Our school ethos is shaped by our Charter of Values which blends tradition with innovation. Our strategic priorities are to ‘connect more, achieve more and nurture more’.

We hold an Open Day in the first half of the Autumn Term and two Sixth Form Information Evenings in November. Should you wish to view the school at any other time, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We will be delighted to meet you and show you what we have to offer as a ‘World class school’.
