We are looking to add to our Trust Board through the recruitment of suitably qualified and skilled, independent volunteers.
Thomas Mills Academy Trust is the legal entity with the board having collective accountability and responsibility for the trust and assuring itself that there is compliance with regulatory, contractual, and statutory requirements. The trust board provides:
- strategic leadership of the academy trust
- accountability and assurance
- engagement
The board has strategic oversight of relationships with stakeholders and the board involves parents, schools and communities so that decision-making is supported by meaningful engagement.
Most Trustees are appointed to assist the school by bringing specific skills to the board, for example, legal, financial, HR, business professional Etc.
The board meets regularly throughout the school year, (2-3 two hour meetings per half term, plus independent visits) and trustees support the school with other occasional meetings such as appeals, panels, interviews and working groups. For this reason, we need a trustee with no conflict of interest with the school.
