A group of former Thomas Mills High School & Sixth Form pupils are attempting to walk the 60+ miles of the Suffolk Coast Path over two days this coming Bank Holiday weekend to fundraise for the Batten’s Disease Family Association.
Former pupil David Owen’s little boy, Alfie, was recently diagnosed with infantile Batten Disease, a rare, incurable and fatal neurodegenerative disease. David and his family and friends are walking to support Alfie and all those affected by the trauma of a Batten diagnosis, and to help the BDFA improve therapies and fund research into a possible cure.
The lads are very close to their £10,000 target now, so anything you can add will really help to motivate them to complete the challenge and of course also help children like Alfie and their families.
