Camera Obscura – Celebrating 200 years of Photography

On the 200th anniversary of the world’s first photograph, Mr Watson has converted one of our classrooms into a walk in Camera Obscura. Students and staff have been able to experience the first steps in photography themselves!

If you can’t work it out – the photo shows pupils inside the ‘camera’ sitting down, while the pupils who are upside down are outside with their image ‘projected’ into the room via a pin hole of light thrown onto a screen – Mr Watson can explain why they are upside down!

Open Mornings and Annual Open Evening

We will be hosting a series of Open Mornings from 21st to 25th September, starting at 9:30 AM each day as well as our annual Open Evening on Thursday, 24th September, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

If you would like to attend an Open Morning, please get in touch as soon as possible via email at inmail@thomasmills.suffolk.sch.uk. This will help us to manage visitor numbers on specific days.
