Year 8 geography students at Thomas Mills High School and Sixth Form have been getting hands-on with their learning by creating impressive 3D models of river landforms. As part of their study of geomorphic processes, pupils explored how rivers shape the landscape through erosion, transportation, and deposition.
From V-shaped valleys and meanders to oxbow lakes and deltas, the students demonstrated an excellent understanding of how these features form and change over time. The models showcased not only geographical knowledge but also a high level of creativity and teamwork.
The project was made possible by the school’s dedicated and innovative geography team, who continue to find engaging ways to bring the curriculum to life. It’s a brilliant example of active learning in action at Thomas Mills.
