Thomas Mills Award Presentation Evening

Last night, we proudly celebrated the achievements of our Year 7 and Year 8 students who had completed the Thomas Mills Award. The award is designed to encourage students to develop skills and experiences beyond the academic curriculum. It challenges them to engage in creative, physical, and service-based activities, helping them grow in confidence, independence, and character.
At the heart of our ethos is the Thomas Mills High School Charter of Values—a set of principles that guide our students in becoming thoughtful, responsible, and resilient individuals. The Charter promotes respect, kindness, curiosity, and a strong sense of community. These values are not just ideals; they are lived out every day in our classrooms, corridors, and wider school life.
We were honoured to be joined by Mr John Hibberd MBE, who presented the awards. Mr Hibberd served at Thomas Mills High School for over three decades, most recently as Deputy Headteacher, before retiring in 2016. His dedication to the school and its students has left a lasting legacy, and we were delighted to welcome him back.
